PDP Scribe: Coalition Makes Case For Babatope

A coalition of civil society groups have called on the Peoples Democratic Party in the South West to consider the nomination of Chief Ebenezer Babatope for the position of national secretary of the party.

In statement, yesterday, the joint national coordinator of the bodies, Olufemi Aduwo, said that Babatope was better qualified to move the party forward and added that even though all the contestants were eminently qualified by the PDP constitution to contest for the position, he was more eminent in terms of repositioning the agenda of the party.

“Since the position has been zoned to the south west, merit should be the yardstick. An acceptable candidate who would design party programme along with Mr. President and not any controversial person regardless of his educational or financial background should be considered.
