Governor of Katsina State, Dr. Ibrahim Shehu Shema, has approved the sum of N1, 500,553 as the State’s salary for the month of January, 2012, The figure marks the commencement of the implementation of the new minimum wage.
A press release signed by the Commissioner of Finance, Lawal Jari and made available to LEADERSHIP said only staff that were verified and biometrically captured in the recent staff screening exercise as submitted by the Committee appointed to carry out the exercise by the Government would benefit from it.
According to the release, the Governor also approved the release of N91, 881 for the payment of salaries of staff of the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua University.
“This therefore brings the total payment for salaries of staff of the State Government and Umaru Musa Yar’Adua University to N1,592,432,799.64K as released by the Government for the purpose”.
