Hitch-free Voting In Adamawa Governorship Election

Voting commenced on schedule in most polling units in Yola in Saturday’s governorship election.?

Voting commenced at exactly 12.30 p.m. in most polling units in Yola as scheduled, with the exercise going on smoothly without any hitch.

At Kofar Sarkin Lauje,Yahaya Tela, State Polytechnic II, Manu-Gamji, Lugere Primary School, Yelwa and Gwadabawa polling units, the presidng officers said that adequate voting materials were provided.

“Everything is going on smoothly here. We have enough voting materials. So far, everything is moving according to plans,''? said Mohammed Yakubu, one of the presiding officers.

It was also observed that adequate security measures were taken in all the polling units, with men of the Nigeria Police Force, NSCDC and other para-military agencies maintaining law and order.

Earlier, during the accreditation of voters there were enough voting materials, while all the electoral personnel were on the ground with enough security men.

One of the policemen on duty at a polling unit, who did not want his name mentioned, told NAN that he was pleased with the manner voters conducted themselves.

He prayed that the exercise would be hitch-free throughout the state.
