There was rowdy session on Thursday, at the Borno State House of Assembly, following the impeachment of its speaker, Hon. Goni Ali Modu, who was accused of been too loyal to the Executive, and also not keeping to his promises to the? members, among other things.
During the impeachment process, 21 out 28 members voted in favour of Goni's removal, after Hon. Ayemi Lawan representing Damboa constituency moved the motion for his impeachment.
Meanwhile, Hon. Abdulkarim Adam representing Guzamala has been elected as the new speaker of the house.
In his acceptance speech, the new speaker promise to carry all members along, irrespective of party different affiliations.
