JNI Calls For Special Prayers Against Same-Sex Marriage

The Jama’atul Nasril Islam (JNI) on Thursday called for special prayers against same-sex marriage in the country.

JNI made the appeal in a statement issued in Kaduna and signed by its Secretary-General, Dr Khalid Abubakar Aliyu.

The statement frowned at renewed efforts by the UN Secretary General Secretary, Mr Ban Ki-Moon, on Feb. 29 during the African Union Summit in Addis, Ethiopia, to campaign for support for same-sex marriage.

“We call on all Muslims to pray against the success of such devilish act, and may the Almighty continue to protect us from the whispers of Shaitan, the cursed. Amin.”

?It also urged the Federal Government not to be intimidated or succumb to the pressure of those “who would always want us to be at their service”.

“Though same-sex Prohibition Bill has been put in place by the National Assembly, however, it is instructive to state categorically that we, as Muslims, condemn in its entirety, the ungodly act of such call made by UN scribe,” the statement said.

It also noted with concern threats by the British Foreign Secretary, Mr William Hague, that the UK government would cut aid to anti-gay countries.
