Military/SSS Raid Suspected Boko Haram Hideout In Katsina.

A combined team of Military and State Security Service (SSS) officials in Katsina state have raided a suspected hideout of members of Boko Haram in Katsina metropolis.

The newsmen gathered that the officials stormed the area along Dutsinma road near the Timber Market, NTA and NAN offices at about 6: 00 p.m. on Sunday and surrounded an uncompleted building suspected to be the hideout of the members.

Following the operation, traders and passers-by were thrown into confusion.

A fuel hawker in the area, Isa Mohammed said that he witnessed the arrival of armed security men in four Hilux patrol vans, adding that the team cordoned off the area.

Also a timber seller, who pleaded for anonymity, said three people were arrested by the military.

“The security men just stormed the area, cordoned off the building and effected arrest of the suspect.”

Another eye witness, Yusuf Ibrahim, said: “I was on my way to the city from the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua University when some military men directed me to change my route. In fact they were operating when I arrived at the place and saw them with guns.”

Contacted on phone, the spokesman of the 3rd Mechanised Brigade, Lt. Ikediche Iweha who resides in Kano, said he could not confirm the incident.

He, however, said: “I suggest that you should exercise patience, so that we can get accurate information concerning the issue.”
