Group Defends Yuguda Over Allegation Of Using Thugs

The recent allegation by the Congress for Progressive Change [CPC] Governorship candidate in Bauchi State, Alhaji Yusuf Maitama Tuggar that Governor Isa Yuguda had used thugs to win the? April 2011 election by using them to intimidate the CPC supporters has been described as a mere fabrication.

The PDP Amana Group, who debunked the allegation in a press statement made available to LEADERSHIP yesterday claimed that CPC had failed to defeat Yuguda in the last election due to its alleged absence of internal democracy and integrity at all levels which compelled its aggrieved members to volunteer as PDP agents during the election.

Public Relations Officer of the Group, Mr. Muhammad Sabo who signed the statement maintained that even the CPC candidate had allegedly confessed in an interview recently that the party was no match to the PDP in terms of organization and financial strength.
