Katsina Earmarks N1.7b For State’s Radio, TV Stations

Katsina State Government says it has earmarked N1.7 billion for the purchase of modern equipment for the state’s owned radio and television stations this fiscal year.

The Commissioner for Information, Culture, Tourism and Home Affairs, Alhaji Gide Sani, disclosed this on Monday in Katsina while inaugurating the board for the state radio and television services.

Sani said that government would install a modern radio and television transmitters that would cover the 34 local areas.

He said that efforts were aimed at ensuring effective information dissemination in all the nooks and crannies of the state.

Sani urged media personnel in the state to intensify efforts towards effective service delivery.

The commissioner also urged people to support the administration’s policies and programmes which, he said, were aimed at improving their living condition and moving the state forward.?????

Responding on behalf of other members, the Board’s Chairman, Alhaji Kabir Dangogo, thanked the government for given them the mandate to serve the state.

Dangogo assured that members would work hard to justify the confidence repose in them.
