FCTA Moves To Unveil Ghost Workers

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) is set to conduct a three month staff audit and verification exercise for personnel working in all its departments and agencies.

The audit exercise which is part of efforts by the administration to cut personnel cost would also ascertain that there are no ghost workers on its payroll.???

The FCT Minister, Senator Bala Mohammed disclosed this at an Emergency Executive Committee (EXCO) meeting of the administration, held in Gwarinpa I District (Life-Camp), Abuja.?

He lamented that the FCT administration was heavy in terms of staff capacity and “there was need for a verification exercise to ensure that emoluments are only paid to staff genuinely on its services.”??

“This exercise will cut personnel cost which will be in consonance with the promise President Goodluck Jonathan made to Nigerians,” he added.

Mohammed instructed that the relevant FCTA agency sets in motion machinery for the immediate conduct of the biometric exercise and added that with this, the administration would be re-positioned for improved services to the residents of the FCT in line with the transformation agenda of the federal government.
