Man, 62 Nabbed For Using Son For Ritual

A 62-year-old farmer, Amaechi (other names withheld) in Ndemili, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State has been arrested by Police in Delta State for allegedly attempting to use his son for ritual sacrifice.

The suspect was said to have put his young son in a tied race bag in readiness for taking him to a juju priest for money ritual but the boy was saved by Amaechi’s older son who found the bag and decided to check out its strange content.

He reportedly raised alarm leading to the arrest of his father and his step mother, both of who denied being responsible for putting the boy in the sack bag.

CRIME FILE has it that the suspect had in 2011 put his step daughter in a family way and defied the counsel of his kinsmen by sending his wife packing and marrying her.

Our source said the suspects were nearly lynched by the angry crowd that gathered in the family house before they were rescued by the police who detained them pending the completion of investigation.

Speaking on the issue, the Delta State Police Commissioner, Mr. Mamman Ibrahim Tsafe, said the couple would be charged to court on completion of investigation, adding that the sack of rice the little boy was found in showed substantial evidence of the act.
