Ondo State Needs Transformation – Iji

Former Ondo state chairman of the Action Congress of Nigeria, Sola Iji, believes the state needs a massive transformation in every sphere, writes Olubunmi Omoogun.

The ACN chieftain, who is also a governorship aspirant under the party, is of the opinion that the transformation can only come with the right people at the helm of affairs.

It’s no secret that the state is in need of a massive transformation. Thankfully, our great party is in the mood to bring that”, said the lawyer turned politician.

He believes that the wind of change blowing in the southwest will soon sweep the right people into Alagbaka, as the quest for the Government House hots up.

Asked if he can provide the leadership, especially with the incumbent Dr Olusegun Mimiko, is in the race, he was emphatic.

Yes. It is not rocket science.  This state needs progressives. What is happening in Lagos , Osun, Edo and others can happen here. Why not? The party (ACN) has provided the platform for action and progressiveness, and that’s why we are the Action Congress of Nigeria.”

Iji was also the former Alliance for Democracy chairman, and was credited with ensuring the survival of the Action Congress of Nigeria, before handing over to the current state chairperson, Olajumoke Anifowoshe.

He maintains that the state is blessed with everything to make it great.

The present governor is building stalls around the state. Is that what we need? Ramshackle markets? Is that what we will need to develop our state? We should move with the times. Other states have Shoprite and the likes, we are building stalls. It’s laughable.”
