YCE Lauds Aregbesola’s Efforts On Yoruba Race

The Yoruba Council of Elders (YCE) at the weekend lauded the Osun State governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola on his effort at ensuring that Yoruba race are in the forefront in the scheme of things among the ethnic groups in the country.

They also gave kudos to the governor for his untiring effort at returning the Yoruba race to a path of glory. The group led by its President, the former military governor of the defunct Western Region, General Adeyinka Adebayo, commended the governor on the feat already achieved in the revival of the values, ethics and culture of the Yoruba race and? also praised him on his? developmental programmes for the people of the state.

Other members of the group in the entourage included former Secretary to the Oyo State Government, Dr. Dejo Raimi; former commissioner under Governor Lam Adesina, Prof. Akinboade; Chief Mrs. Bola Doherty among others.

Some of the programmes for which Aregbesola was commended were youth employment generation, environmental re-engineering, massive food production programmes, and initiatives in the areas of transportation and regional integration.

Adebayo said: “We commend you for the developmental programmes that your government has achieved as we also commend you for your efforts to return Yoruba people to the path of glory. Yoruba people used to be in the forefront, but some selfless leaders have brought our race backward and since you and your colleagues in Yoruba land have come on board, we have seen efforts to return the honour of Yoruba people.
