Group Hails Tribunal Over Benue Judgement

A socio-cultural organisation, Benue Youths in Diaspora Association has hailed the Governorship Election Tribunal in Benue State over what it called a landmark judgement in the petitions against Governor Gabriel Suswam.

Speaking to newsmen in Abuja yesterday on behalf of Benue people in the Diaspora, Comrade Philip Agbese, President-General of the Association disclosed to pressmen that the judgement is to set the ball rolling for Governor Suswam to implement his ‘Our Benue, Our Future’ developmental blueprint.

While commending the efforts of the judiciary especially in their wisdom to save the nation’s democracy through proper interpretations of the constitution at all times, Agbese maintained that the judgment represents the true wishes of Benue sons and daughters particularly those in the Diaspora who went home to vote massively for Governor Gabriel Suswam in the last general elections.

“We in the Diaspora sincerely wish to commend the Nigerian judiciary for setting the records straight in the long tussle between Governor Gabriel Suswam and some candidates who contended the Government House office with him, the men on the bench have once again raised the hope of the common man t and further deepen the spirit of constitutional democracy.”
