Fifa Rankings: Nigeria’s Slump Continues

?

Nigeria woes continued in the latest FIFA ranking released on Wednesday by the football governing body. Last month Nigeria fell to her worst ranking since 1999 when the Super Eagles fell to 56 in the world and eight in Africa, now Nigeria drop one more spot to 57 in the world and have been overtaken by Tunisia in Africa. Nigeria is now ranked ninth in the continent. The barren draw last week against Rwanda in Kigali in the 2013 Nations Cup qualifier may have contributed to this recent drop.
Cote D Ivoire is still the number one ranked team in Africa and maintained their 15 position in the world followed by Ghana who are 23 in the world rankings. African champions Zambia moved two spots from 43 to 41 and maintained their position as the fourth best team in the continent. Bronze Medallist Mali also moved two places from 44 to 42 and completes the top five in Africa
Meanwhile Spain still leads the way on top of the rankings .Netherland moved to second exchanging places with Germany while Uruguay and Brazil completes the top five. Argentina’s 3-1 win last week saw them come back to the top 10 after a month absence.
