Police Test New Camouflage Uniform

Acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Abubakar, yesterday, disclosed that President Goodluck Jonathan has approved a test run for a new camouflage uniform which would become the force’s new attire

The IG who adorned the new camouflage uniform said that it would become one of the Force’s operational outfits.

Police spokesman, DCP Olusola Amore, who made this known in a statement said that the new uniform was in line with the transformation agenda of the Federal Government and the desire of the police management team to reform and launder the image of the police through a uniform for its officers and men.

The camouflage, an admixture of black, white and ash colours, is said to have some inherent advantages when fully integrated and confirmed as one of the official police outfits

These included cost effectiveness in maintenance, operational durability, customised security features to forestall impersonation, and environmental friendliness.
