Police Arrest 20-year-old Man For Murder In Kano

The Kano Police Command has arrested a 20-year-old man, Auwalu Mohammed, for allegedly killing a lady believed to be his girl friend.

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Magaji Majiya, in Kano on Tuesday, indicated that the suspect was apprehended on Sunday at No. 7, Middle Road, Sabon-Gari, Kano.

“The suspect was arrested after a distress call was received by the Nomans Land Police Division that, the suspect slaughtered a lady with a knife.

“The suspect was arrested at the scene of the crime and a knife stained with blood was recovered from him, while the name and address of the victim are yet to be ascertained. ”

According to the statement, the suspect has made confessional statements during the preliminary investigation.

It said that the case had been transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department further for investigation.

Meanwhile, the command said it had arrested one Chukwudi John, who conspired with two others to rob and kill Supt Christopher Onocha, attached to ICPC, Abuja on Feb. 13.

The gang it said specialised in snatching vehicles at gun point along Abuja -Kaduna-Kano and Lokoja-Abuja-Kaduna express ways.

“The suspects brutally killed him and took away his car, a Toyota Camry with registration number ABC 908 AA. ’’

It however, stated that the suspects were arrested in Kano while trying to sell the car, adding that three Jeeps were also recovered from them.

The police said the three suspects would soon be charged to court. (NAN)
