Four suspected drug barons were killed in a clash with NDLEA officials on Wednesday at Loco village in Song Local Government Area of Adamawa.
The state NDLEA Commander, Alhaji Hassan Zungeru, confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Yola on Wednesday.
?Zungeru said the clash followed the arrest of a notorious drug baron who had been on the? wanted list of the command.
?“The armed drug baron ambushed NDLEA men after we had arrested one of them, but we repelled their attack and killed four of them.
“One of our men was injured and he is receiving treatment at the hospital,” Zungeru said.
The commander said that the baron who was arrested managed to escape during the clash.
Men of the state anti-crime squad, “Operation Tsaro”, assisted the NDLEA in repelling the attack, he added.
?Zungeru also said that six suspects had been arrested in respect of the attack.
