AlhajiMuhammad Bello, the Chairman of the National Hajj Commission, announced the committee's composition while addressing the members of the committee in Abuja on Friday.

He said that over the years, NAHCON had been able to improve on transportation, noting that “now we have a situation where Nigerian pilgrims were taken to Saudi Arabia and brought back within the specified time frame set by Saudi Authorities.’’

In his contribution, Alhaji Abdullahi Muktar, the Commissioner for Operations,NAHCON, assured Nigerians of the committee’s readiness to conduct its assignment? meticulously.

Mukhtar said that the commission was carrying out the inauguration of the committee early and described the step as a sign of good things to come.

He said the early inauguration would give the commission time to prepare for the 2012 Hajj.

Mukhtar said during the 2011 Hajj, the formation of four special committees on Aviation, Consumer Rights,

Hand Luggage Screening along with the Traffic and Scheduling Committee enabled the commission to identify unknown areas that required special attention.

He said that the committees had submitted reports, which recommendations would be used to improve future operations and guide the airline screening committee.

Muktar said that the committee would conclude its job in the second week of April 2012.
