Shun Religious, Ethnic Divisions, Yuguda Admonishes Bauchi People

Gov Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State has appealed to the people not to allow religion, ethnicity or political affiliations to divide them.

Yuguda made the appeal on Friday in Bauchi in a statewide broadcast to the people to mark Good Friday and Easter celebrations.

He urged them to bury their differences and live in peace and harmony with one another.

Yuguda also urged Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of love for one another, forgiveness and mutual respect? as illustrated in the life and teaching of Jesus Christ, who paid the supreme price to save mankind.

“We must see ourselves as one and the same people irrespective of our ethnic and religious differences. We should allow peace to reign in our states and the country.”

He prayed God to bring to an end the security challenges facing the nation.

The governor also reminded the people that the state and the country needed peace more than ever to enable the ongoing transformation programme to succeed.

He reiterated his administration's commitment to the maintenance of law and order, adding that the government had taken necessary measures to ensure the safety of lives and property.

He warned that any person or group persons found? engaging in acts capable of causing disorder and confusion in the state, would face the full weight of the law.
