Congestion In Delta Prisons Causes Death Scare

Congestion, and other unhealthy acts currently threatening the various prisons in Delta State with thirty inmates, allegedly said to have died from strange illnesses.

Dependable prison sources said nowadays, inmates’ room? could take as many as two hundred serving prisoners; a situation that resulted in the emergence of strange sicknesses which allegedly left the inmates dead.

Prisons like Warri, Sapele and Ogwashi-Uku are worst hit with the problem of congestion, leading to the outbreak of heatrashes, as well as other? strange illnesses which have reportedly hit the inmates.

Though officials of the prisons denied knowledge of any ugly situation, but reactions of the inmates indicated that the prisons are eyesores with dingy environments, including the rooms.

Investigations at Warri prison revealed that offensive odours permeated the entire place; being another contributing factor leading to inmates’ death.

Unconfirmed sources said inmates die on a daily basis as a result of the dirty environment where residue from an oil firm pollutes the prison premises to cause serious environmental attack on the inmates.
