Borno Police Kill 1, Arrest 3 Armed Robbers

In the renewed effort of the Borno Police command to rid Borno state off the violent crimes and other miscreants, the Command yesterday arrested three suspected notorious armed robbers in different locations in the state, who believed to have been terrorising the people of the state in recent times.

The Borno police commission Alhaji Bala A. Hassan who paraded the hoodlums before journalists at the Command’s premises said that two of the robbers were apprehended in Banki border town, after serious gun battle with police, which led to the killing of one of them, while a police man sustained serious injuries in the attack and he is recuperating.

The other suspect according to the police commissioner who was nabbed by patrol police men in one of the villages in Marte Local government area of the state following a tip off had in many occasions attacked and dispossessed the people of the area their belongings.

The culprit, Ibrahim Umaru who had since confessed to have committed the crime also revealed that he used to get the arms and ammunitions for his operation from a man that based in Cameroon, whom he did not give his name. Items recovered from the robbers included 2 AK 47 of 17 rounds and live ammunitions.
