Oil Bunkering: NSCDC Confiscates 2 Tankers

The anti-vandal unit of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command has confiscated two fuel tankers used for siphoning crude oil.

Parading the tankers at the command’s headquarters in Abuja, yesterday, the Commandant, NSCDC FCT, Mr. Rabe Saidu explained that the anti-vandal patrol team in Kwali area council recently discovered that vandals had sunk holes in a pipeline at kilometer 81.0 in Kamadi, from where they siphoned crude products.

“In the early hours of May 14, 2012, at about 04 am, the vandals came with a 45,000 litre tanker with Bayelsa State registration No. XA711KMK to siphon the crude product, after loading the products, as they were moving out of the pipeline area and were just about to enter the high way, they fled on sighting the anti-vandal patrol team and abandoned the tankers. The tankers were guided till the morning when I immediately informed the national headquarters,” he said.

Saidu said other items recovered from the tankers were, two cash invoices of purchase of Nokia phones bearing the name Egbulu Ihueze, two way bill delivery receipts from NNPC pump station in Kaduna bearing the dates December 29, 2011 and? January 29, 2012.

The commandant said investigation was ongoing to apprehend the owners of the tankers.
