A Black polythene bag placed in a water chamber beside the Baptist model Nursery/primary school by the ever busy Ahmadu Bello way on Wednesday, caused panic as people thought it contained an explosive.
The news went round Kaduna and its environs that a bomb had been planted, and most people hurriedly left the surrounding while vehicles took to other routes to avoid the place.
The Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) DSP Aminu Lawan confirmed the incident.
He however said, “When our attention was called to the substance, our men from the anti bomb squad went there and discovered that there was nothing explosive in the polythene bag, but we salute the consciousness of the public”.
An eye witness who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity said the bomb scare alarm originated from security men attached to the school.
