Thugs Storm CPC Headquarters In Abuja

No fewer than five trucks loaded with thugs yesterday stormed the national headquarters of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in Abuja.

The thugs were mobilised by some aggrieved members of the party who were led by one Emeka believed to be working under the directive of? Sen. Rufai Hanga to effect their decision of disbanding the National Working Committee (NEC) and suspension of principal officers of the party as they stated at a press conference recently.

The national publicity secretary of the party, Engr. Rotimi Fashakin told LEADERSHIP that the party got information about the plans of the suspended members of the party, and called for the police to beef up security in order to wade off the planned occupation of the national headquarters of the party.

Fashakin said: “We got information about the planned occupation and attack by aggrieved members of the party led by one Emeka under the directive of the leader of the group, Sen Rufai Hanga, and we alerted the police about the planned attack. It was a way to say they have sacked the NEC and principal officers of the party. They know that they have lost out in everything, and those of them yet to be expelled will be shown the way out, and those expelled we have nothing to do concerning them. Without them CPC is able to forge ahead very well as a party.”

Fashakin also said that, “the aggrieved members want to create the perception in the minds of Nigerians that the party is divided, and that is very far from the truth, because the leaders of the party were elected at the convention, which also elected General Muhammadu Buhari as the presidential candidate of the party, and no group can dispute that.”

Meanwhile, the police have arrested the leader of the thugs, Emeka and some other culprits.

politics should not be a game of do or die.
there should be a compromise and win-win choice of operation.
however engr fashakin should reach the uk branch of the party through the e mail for information.
