Gov. Patrick Yakowa of Kaduna State on Monday cautioned the people against reprisal attacks.
Yakowa made the appeal during a visit to ECWA and Ahmadu Bello Univesity Teaching Hospital, Shika in Zaria, to commiserate with the victims of Sunday’s bomb attacks.
The governor urged the affected persons to take heart and consider what happened as an act of God.
He reminded residents of the state that anything that affected the state, affected the whole country and that “if the state is in peace, the whole nation will be in peace.''
Yakowa, who was accompanied by members of the State Executive Council, thanked God that only one person was killed in the blast.
Receiving the governor, The Church's Secretary, Rev. Chris Dariya, described the incident as shocking.
He said that if not for the barriers mounted on the church's main gate, the casualty figure would have been worse.
The reverend said about 200 children were worshiping in the church when the blast occurred, but that the Church had left everything to God.
He appealed to the state government to come to their aid.
At the hospital, the governor also sympathised with the victims of the blast at the Accident and Emergency Ward.
The Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Khalid Lawal, who received the governor, said 16 of the victims received by the hospital were under intensive care.
