Robbers Attack The Sun Correspondent’s Husband, Cart Away N500, 000

Gunmen? yesterday, in Makurdi, attacked and collected the sum of N500, 000 from Mr. Samuel Ejembi, husband to the Benue State correspondent of The Sun Newspaper, Mrs. Rose Ejembi.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the dare devil robbers, four in number, three men and a woman, had stopped Mr. Ejembi who was driving out of? the? campus of the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi.

Narrating the incident to newsmen yesterday, Mr. Ejembi said that he, “had gone to the university to collect the huge money as payment for advertisement that was being owed her wife by the management of the institution” and that he “was trapped by the robbers who he said waved at him and requested for a lift.”
According to him, his wife who was pregnant was called by one of the officials of the university to come to the institution and collect the? money which, according to him, was owed her for several months but further explained that his wife was seriously ill and could not afford to drive and therefore pleaded with him? to carry out the duty on her behalf.
