A? bomb-laden car yesterday exploded opposite a popular night club, Kryxtal Lounge in Wuse 2,? Abuja. Although details of the blast were still sketchy as at press time, LEADERSHIP WEEKEND gathered that at about 11pm yesterday, a car parked between the Etisalat office and another building was said to have exploded.
The number of casualties was not known, but an eyewitness told LEADERSHIP WEEKEND that people sustained various degrees of injury when they scampered for safety.
All efforts as talk to security personnel proved difficult as the security agents comprising riot policemen, SSS operatives and soldiers cordoned off the area and threatened to shoot–on-sight whoever tried to go through the barricade.
The security agent also used vehicles belonging to National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and SSS to block the area.
It was also observed that firefighters and ambulances were all part of the rescue team on ground.
