D’Tigers Begin Super 4 Today

Nigeria’s senior basketball team, D’Tigers will today continue preparation ahead a place in the Olympics with a Super Four Invitational Championship in Brazil. The team which had to engage Chinese clubs converged in Houston, Texas in the United States to assemble what would look like the team to confront Venezuela and Lithuania in the Olympics playoff for a place in? the world’s biggest sporting event.??

In one of the build ups during the weekend, Team Nigeria took it’s pound of flesh against Team Britain in an encounter sent into overtime. Huge three-pointer, Tony Oludewa Skinn was the man in the dying seconds of regular time. Ike Diogu led Alfarouk Aminu, Ekene Ibekwe, Ade Dagunduro, Olumide Oyedeji and late team entrants Derrick Obasohan and Chamberlain Oguchi to put the game beyond Team Britain during the 5 minutes added time at 86-80. Diogu controlled the boards with 15 and 33 points to show for his effort and Olumide assisted with defensive rebounding and Ekene slammed down two monster dunks for emphasis to avenge last year’s defeat to Team Britain on Nigeria’s way to the Afrobasket in Madagascar.
