We Can’t Afford These Killings – Senate

The senate yesterday expressed shock over the death of Senator Gyang Dalyop Dantong in Jos? yesterday.

Senate Spokesman, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe in a statement said Nigeria cannot afford these killings.

The Senate, he said regrets deeply this type of killings, which suggest most painfully that some people no longer respect the sanctity of human life.

“We cannot continue this way. The death of Senator Dantong and? other innocent citizens is a sad reminder of the current orgy of killings ravaging some parts of the country in recent times.

“The senate is pained that the killings have assumed a frightening dimension and is worried that a fine lawmaker in the like of Senator Dantong would die in such a way while serving his people”, he said.

Consequently, the Senate, Senator Abaribe said condemn the attacks, killings and cautioned that it would be in the interest of all to rally and put a final stop to the unfortunate incident.

“The senate would surely miss Senator Dantong. We therefore condole with the family and others who lost their lives in the incident.”
