Kebbi Govt Plans To Collaborate With Foreign Firms To Explore Gold

The Kebbi Government, in conjunction with firms from China, Australia and South Africa will soon commence the exploration of gold in the state.

Gov. Saidu Dakingari, who?disclosed the plan?in Kalgo in Kebbi on Tuesday, said it was aimed at providing employment and would improve revenue for the state.

Dakingari?was speaking to farmers in Kalgo Local Government Area of the state,?who would benefit from the newly introduced Growth Enhancement Support (GES) scheme.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the scheme?is also known as e-wallet voucher system.

He said that arrangements were ongoing for a Chinese firm to commence exploration for gold in Mahuta and Zuru in the Southern parts of the state.

The governor?said that exploration firms from Australia and South Africa would also seek to discover gold in Golongo and Laka in Yauri Local Government Area of the state. (NAN)
