90 Ships Expected In Lagos From July To Aug.4

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) on Friday said 90 ships carrying various goods were expected to berth at the Lagos ports between July and the first week of August.

The cargo situation report made available to the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos was contained in the NPA daily publication known as? “Shipping Position ”.

It said that five vessels with 65,400 tonnes of rice and a ship with 3,000 tonnes of fish were expected in the country during the period under review.

The others are 27 vessels carrying containers and 12 vessels carrying different vehicles.

A breakdown of the vehicles expected showed that 2,422 units are used vehicles while the new vehicles are 2,100 units.

NPA cargo manifest also showed that seven ships with 21,200 tonnes of diesel and another seven ships were being expected in period under review.

In the month under review, NPA also projected that two of the vessels with 39,500 tonnes of bulk fertiliser and three other vessels carrying bulk wheat were expected.

According to the cargo manifest, 27 ships and 16 tankers are already discharging their cargoes at various terminals in Lagos.

A further breakdown showed that four tankers are discharging aviation fuel, four are discharging petrol, three tankers are discharging diesel while four tankers are discharging kerosene.

One tanker, the manifest showed also is discharging 1,500 tonnes of palmolein.
