Attah’s Death, A Great Loss – Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan has described the demise of Dr. Aliyu Obaje,the paramount ruler of Igala kingdom as a monumental loss to the nation.

President Jonathan who was speaking at the 8th day Firdau prayer for the late Attah Igala in Idah yesterday, posited that his death came at a time his wise counsel would have been most needed.

The President who was represented by the Minister for Solid Minerals, Sada Mohammed, further described the late first class chief as a unique personality, whose wisdom and wealth of experience would have been most needed now that the nation was passing through security challenges and crisis of stability.

He prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed, even as he prayed Almighty Allah to grant the people of the state and the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Also in a remark, the state Governor, Captain Idris Wada said the reign of the late monarch witnessed accelerated development, peace and tranquility, adding that he contributed in no small measure towards the progress of the state in particular and the country in general.

He described the late Attah Igala as a great man and father of modern Igala nation, whose impeccable records should be emulated.

In his reaction, the former national chairman of the? Peoples Democratic Party(PDP),Dr. Ahmadu Ali noted that the development witnessed under the late traditional ruler was unparalleled.

He described his death as a blow, more so that it was coming at a time that his guidance for the present leadership in the state would have been most needed.
