Sharks FC Involved In Auto Crash

The Port-Harcourt side could not continue their journey to Kaduna after they were involved in an accident in Auchi. Players and officials of Sharks may not honour the Week 36 Nigeria Premier League game against Kaduna United as they were involved in an accident in Auchi on their way for the game. One of the strikers in the team, Victor Ezeji narrated to Goal.com how it happened.

“We were approaching AuchiPolytehnic when we noticed that an Okada man was trying desperately to overtake a car on the other side of the road,” said Ezeji.

“When he succeded in overtaking the car, the Okada man with a female passenger faced our bus and had nowhere to go to. Our bus hit the man and the passenger and infact dragged the bike driver on the road for a long time. Some of the players also sustained injuries because our windscreen was smashed beyond recognition.

“Right now that I am talking with you,the police have taken our bus to their station and the seriously injured Okada man has been taken to the hospital together with the passenger.

“I really don’t know whether we can continue with the journey to Kaduna because we are disorganised right now.

We have to take care of the injured Okada man, repair the bus and also look after the players that minor injuries,” Ezeji added. All week 36 matches will be played tomorrow except the Rangers tie against Sunshine Stars.
