Sambo, Yakowa Stress Selfless Service, As Kaduna Honours Mailafia, Others

The Kaduna State government yesterday honoured its illustrious sons and daughters who are appointees of the Federal Government.

Those honoured were the Minister of Environment, HajiyaHadizaMailafia, Supreme Court, Justice Kumai Akaahs, the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Andrew Yakubu, and the National Organising Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), AlhajiAbubakar Mustapha.

The reception, which attracted other prominent indigenes of the state, was chaired by the former Chief Justice of Nigeria, MuhammaduLawalUwais. It had in attendance the Vice President Federal Mohammed NamadiSambo.

In his address to those honoured, Sambo described their elevations as well deserved, adding that they have distinguished themselves in their chosen endeavours and urged them to remain committed and put in their best to making the state and Nigeria great.

He reiterated that the Federal Government’s transformation agenda is paramount, and that President Goodluck Jonathan remains committed to meeting the yearnings and aspirations of Nigerians.

He pledged that the? incumbent administration would tackle problems militating against the agricultural development in the country, particularly in the northern region. Sambo informed that the dredging of the River Niger was at?? advance stages of completion and would provide jobs for Nigerians when commissioned.

Governor of Kaduna State, Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa expressed delight over the appointment of indigenes of the state into exalted positions at the federal level.

Yakowasaid: “I have no doubt that they will be worthy ambassadors of Kaduna state in the positions that God has put them to serve our country at this very challenging time.
