Police Arrest Six Suspects For Oil Well Vandalism In Delta

The police in Delta have arrested six persons for allegedly vandalising an oil well head and removing the spray pump at Oleh in Isoko South Local Government Area of the state.

Mr Charles Muka, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Delta State Police Command, disclosed this on Wednesday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Asaba.

Muka said the well was owned by Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC).

He said that the suspects were arrested on Tuesday, adding that they would soon be handed over to the Inspector-General Police (IGP) Anti-Pipeline Vandalism Squad for further investigation.

Muka said the suspects were arrested on Oct.16 for vandalising shell well head and removing the spray pump whose value had yet to be ascertained.

He said that the command was poised at eradicating vandalism and other vices in the state.
