Piqued by the recent bomb blast at Saint Rita Catholic Church? in Kaduna state which killed over fifteen people and left several others injured, the Plateau State commissioner of police Emmanuel? Dipo Ayeni has called on religious leaders and? residents of the state to be on “red alert”
He made the disclosure at a stakeholders meeting on security matters held at the police officer mess in Jos the plateau state capital yesterday
The commissioner of police stressed the need for security consciousness as some Churches and Mosques were complacent in their security measures while appealing? to the religious leaders to moderate hours of worship and also provide adequate security for their members during worship hours.
Speaking further the officer in charge of the anti-bomb squad, ASP Abe l Mbibi, reiterated the need? for churches and mosques? to comply with? security measures agreed upon by the security and religious leaders while emphasis? on security tips for religious, social, corporate and government establishments in the state.
The commissioner further? commend? previous efforts of religious leaders, stakeholders and security agencies in sustaining peace and pledged to work harder to sustained the present peace being enjoyed in the state.
Meanwhile the Plateau State Police Command has disclosed that over N13Million worth of stolen properties including cars, motorcycles, Laptop and Blackberry phones have been recovered in the last two months.
The state Police Commissioner Emmanuel Diipo Ayeni who disclosed this in Jos said some of the vehicles include a Toyota Avensus valued N7Million, a Volkwagen Jeep valued N3 Million, an ash Setring Convertible with registration number ET 885 APP, a black Toyota RAV4 without registration number, a gold Toyota Camry with registration number AA 850 MBD, a Toyota Matrix with registration number AE 10 SHR and a Toyota Sienna with registration number KJA 318 AR.
