The Nigerian administration has declared that the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGI) will be implemented on democracy day. The programme’s director and CEO, Michael O. Oluwagbemi, made this statement on Wednesday.

Oluwagbemi pointed out that the initiative is part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration’s commitment to promoting sustainable energy solutions and reducing carbon emissions. He stated that there will be a series of activities leading up to the launch of the highly anticipated Nationwide Deployment Plan on May 29, 2024.

“These activities represent significant milestones in our journey towards achieving energy efficiency, environmental sustainability, and economic prosperity for Nigeria. PCNGI is dedicated to fostering cooperation with all stakeholders as we work towards a cleaner, greener future,” Oluwagbemi stated.

“These programs are a fulfillment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s pledge to drive Nigeria’s energy transition in the transportation sector using CNG and promoting economic growth.

“PCNGI is undertaking an extensive pre-launch schedule aimed at engaging stakeholders, showcasing critical gas supply projects, and facilitating the conversion and refuelling infrastructure across the country.”
