It was pandemonium? in Golhoss Village along Makera? Rim road in Rim district of Riyom local government of Plateau state early hours of yesterday morning? following the discovering of an Improvised Explosive Devise I E D planted? under a bridge which exploded and damage the pillars of the bridge.
LEADERSHIP-SUNDAY investigation revealed that the Bomb exploded at about 2 am when the villagers where asleep and that created serious tension in the locality.
The special task force on Jos crisis STF confirmed the incident while confirming the explosion? in a press statement signed? by its media officer captain Sailisu Mustapha said there was an explosion at Golhoss village of Riyom Local government of the state under a bridge yesterday.
The statement said? STF and the police Anti Bomb squad got to the scene of the Bomb another bomb that was yet to explode was discover and detonated.?
The statement further said? that the pillar of the bridge was badly damaged and the unexploded bomb have since been defused by the anti bomb squad of the plateau police command.
STF added that no casualty was recorded? and normalcy has returned to the village.
It calls on residence of the state to be vigilant and report any suspicious objects, persons or activities in their area to security agencies.
