House To Address Capital Oil’s Petition

Barring any last minute change, the House of Representatives will on Thursday, December 6, 2012, address the petition sent to it by Capital Oil and Gas Industries Ltd.

The petition, which was sent to the Speaker about two weeks ago, is made against the Presidential Committee on Fuel Subsidy, headed by Aig-Imoukhuede, Access Bank Plc, Dr. Cosmas Maduka and his company, Ccscharis Motors.

In the petition, Capital Oil and Gas is amongst other issues asking the House to “intervene, mediate and redress the various injustices meted out to it. Some of these are serious breach of fundamental human rights, gross misrepresentation, suppression and concealment of material facts, threat to life of its CEO, Chief Ifeanyi Uba, as well as infringement and gross violations of banking rules and regulations by Access Bank.”

Specifically, the petition wants the House to carefully look at the report of the Presidential Committee on Fuel Subsidy, which recommend Capital Oil and Gas for further investigation without due process, willful refusal of the Finance Ministry to remit its overdue subsidy payment of over N20 billion, unethical and insider abuse by Access Bank and Mr. Cosmas Maduka, contrary to section 18 and 20 (2) of BOFIA law 2004.

The company also wants the House to check what it considers as? conspiracy between Access Bank and Maduka to strangulate, distabilse and take over affairs of the company under false pretense of a disputed loan facility .
