Fadama III disburses N4m to beneficiaries

The Fadama III
programme disbursed N4.2 million to two Fadama Community Associations
(FCAs) in Maiha local government area of Adamawa State in 2010.

Lawan Nasiru, the
programme desk officer, disclosed this on Wednesday in Maiha in an
interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He said the money
was for the construction of a bridge and road to link over 100 villages
in the area. He listed the benefitting associations as Lisan-Mangal and
Alheri FCAs.

“The project will gulp more than N17 million and the Fadama programme will contribute N12 million of the total cost.

“Under the
agreement, Fadama III will provide 60 per cent while the participating
communities will contribute 40 per cent of the total cost of the
project. Already, the Maiha local government has contributed N6 million
to the project,” Mr. Nasiru said.

The desk officer
said Fadama III programme had so far expended more than N2 million on
pilot asset projects in various communities.
