Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State commissioned a N116 million ultra-modern market in Owo.

Speaking at the
occasion, the governor said it was in fulfilment of his
administration’s promise to the people. Barely two weeks ago, Mr Mimiko
flagged off the N3.9 billion expansion of Owo major roads.

The market, located beside the palace of the traditional ruler of
Owo is made up of 300 open stalls, 64 lockup shops, one banking hall, a
crèche and borehole, among other facilities. Mr Mimiko said he had been
able to accede to the request of the people by expanding the township
major roads, renovating their market to meet national standard and
employing more doctors to serve in their hospitals. Mr Mimiko, who
disclosed that work has commenced on Owo/Ose water project, added that
all the towns and villages in Owo Local Government, including Uso,
Iyere, Molege, Upe and Alao, have felt the impact of his government in
the last two years.
