In its bid to boost
sanitation coverage in Nigeria, the National Task Group on Sanitation
(NTGS) is set to establish an international centre for information on
sanitation in the country.

Obioha Agada, the Chairman of the group, disclosed this on Monday in Abuja in an interview.

Mr. Agada, who also
is an acting Director in the Federal Ministry of Water Resources, said
the centre would be furnished with research materials on sanitation and
hygiene issues so that it will be of international standard.

“We are going to
develop technology for sanitation, have monthly publications, establish
task group at the state and local government levels to enable the group
cover sanitation effectively in the country,” he said.

The chairman said that UNICEF has already employed two consultants to work in the centre.
