Gov Yari Swears In New Cabinet, Warns Against Abuse Of Office

Governor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar of Zamfara State yesterday, swore in his 24- member cabinet and warned them against betrayal of public trust, charging them to come up with policies that could accelerate the development of the state, which he described as overwhelmingly a rural one.

‘’Our decision to appoint you was informed by your track record which we believed would help us in meeting people’s expectation, therefore your coming on board is at the time needed to develop Zamfara,’’ he said.

He then advised the new commissioners to discharge their responsibilities in line with sharia, adding that any act capable of tarnishing the image of the public service would not be condoned.

‘’This administration will create an enabling environment for investors to come so that the problem of youth unemployment and poverty would be addressed forever’’ he urged them.

Speaking on behalf of the newly appointed commissioners, the commissioner of justice, Barrister Garba Gajam Muhammad, thanked the governor for finding them worthy of the appointments, promising to discharge their duties with great sense of responsibilities and fear of God Almighty.

Among those who made the list in the new cabinet were Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and Action Congress of Nigeria (CAN) candidates in the last gubernatorial election, Alhaji Mukhtar Lugga and Alhaji Bala Muhammad Dansadau.
