Anointing Of Separation

Anointing means consecration and anointing of separation is the sanctification that separates one from his fellows. 2 Kings 9:1 narrates how Elisha the prophet sent one of the children of the prophets to Ramoth-gilead with a box of oil. According to 2 Kings 9:2-3, “And when thou comest thither, look out there Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brethren and carry to an inner chamber; the take the box of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, thus saith the lord, I have anointed thee king over Israel. Then open the door, and flee, and tarry not”.

Anointing comes in different forms; many are anointed to preach, some to teach while others are anointed for several other purposes. Jehu was anointed with an assignment to destroy the house of Ahab. 2 Kings 9:7 says, “And thou shall smite the house of Ahab thy master, that I may avenge the blood of all my servants the prophets and the blood of all the servants of the lord at the hand of Jezebel”.

Anointing also gives a man the power to accomplish his mission; Jehu was anointed and was assigned a duty, while the anointing aided him in accomplishing the task. 2 Kings 9:25 says, “And it came to pass as soon as he made an offering, the burnt offering that Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, go in, and slay them; let none come forth. And they smote them with the edge of the sword; and the guard and the captains cast them out, and went to the city of the house of Baal.”
Jehu was not the only man in Israel then, yet God anointed him, separated him from his? folk and stood by him. Psalms 20:6 says,? “ Now know I that the Lord saveth His anointed; He will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.”

David, another man who was anointed king over Israel was also separated from his family, mates, etc. The Bible records that God sent King Saul to Jesse’s to anoint one of his sons. During Saul’s arrival at Jesse’s house, David being the youngest son was in the bush, yet it did not make a difference. 1 Samuel 16:13, says, “Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in him in the midst of his brethren; and the spirit of the lord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.”
The anointing empowered David, even as a little boy; gave him the courage to challenge Goliath. The anointing separated him from fear, intimidation carnality, rather helped build his faith, strength and wisdom. 1 Samuel 17:45 says, “Then said David to the Philistine, thou comest to me with a sword and with a spear and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of Hosts, the God of the armies of the Israel, whom thou hast defied.”
However, anointing most times comes with challenges, but God who has chosen you will not abandon you, and the anointing will break every yoke that would likely militate against your anointing.

Also, the month of April, being the fourth month of the year is a special month. The Bible says that on the fourth day, God created the day and the night. God separated darkness from light. This month of April will also have an impact in your life, meaning that God is using this month to separate darkness from your light.? According to Geneses1:14, “And God said, let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years.”
The anointing you are receiving today is separating you from poverty, sickness, accident, fear, etc, and? taking you to a greater height. All you need do is to stay in tune with God, try as much as possible to overcome sin on a daily basis, guide your tongue and remain an ambassador of Jesus.
