Subversion Of Judiciary May Affect Nigeria’s Image – Opadokun

Accuses Jonathan of witch-hunting Salami – The National Coordination of Coalition? Democrats for Election Reforms (CODER), Chief Ayo Opadokun,?? has said that the?? subversion of judiciary by the political operators may affect the image of the country.

Opadokun? disclosed this? to journalists? at the unveiling of Yaba Compendium? organised by the chairman of Yaba Local Government Council, Hon. Jide Jimoh.
He said,? “Some of us have made sacrifice? for this country and those who have nothing to do with us are the ones? benefiting. It?? is unfortunate thing”
?“The most important institution that is suppose to protect, defend and promote rule of law is subverted. We need God intervention. The protest the Lagos Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA)? started in Lagos should be embrace by others. All of you should organise your protest upon injustice “.

Opadokun also? accused President Goodluck Jonathan of intentionally witch-hunting the suspended? President,? Court of Appeal, Justice Isa? Salami.
He said, “ CODER is ashamed of the conduct of Mr. President for acceding to the request of the National Judicial Council (NJC)”.

Opadokun, who is also a chieftain of Afenifere, pointed out that what Jonathan had done indicated that he had presided over his own matter.

He said,? “You will recall that Justice Salami was the Chairman of the tribunal dealing with the presidential election petition. It can now be said that there was a hidden agenda and it shows that they did not want Salami to continue presiding over the presidential election tribunal. When in a given state, you make evolutionary changes impossible; it means you are causing disaster. Then what you are saying is that everybody should resort to self help.

“So I was shocked but wasn’t surprised when the current acting PDP chairman said they were going to rule till eternity, that is to say they know what they have done.
