Jonathan Approves Umaru For Rector, Federal Poly, Bali

President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the appointment of Dr Saidu Jen as the substantive Rector of Federal Polytechnic, Bali, Taraba state.
The appointment which is for a term of four years in the first instance was conveyed in a letter by the Honourable Minister of Education, Prof Ruqayyatu Ahmed Rufa’i.

“The appointment is for a term of four years, in the first instance with effect from 7th September, 2011. The Terms and condition of service including remunerations and fringe benefits shall be as approved for Rectors of Federal polytechnics, the letter with reference no. HME/FME19/XXI/40, added

Dr Jen,? born in 1957 in Jen, Karim Lamido LGA of Taraba state, is a PhD holder in Industrial Technical Education from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and has been acting in that capacity since 2008. He also acted in that capacity in the Federal Polytechnic, Mubi, Adamawa state between October 2006 and December 2008.

He was Deputy Rector, between September 2005 and October 2007 and? Director, Centre for Technology Entrepreneurship and Community Empowerment of the Federal Polytechnic, Mubi between October 2007 and December 2008.

The new Rector who has several publications, seminar/conference papers to his credit, is a Fellow/ Member of several professional bodies some of which: Fellow, Nigerian Association of Technologists in Engineering, Fellow Institute of Registered Administrative Managers, Fellow, Association of Business Specialists and Entrepreneurs,? Member, Association for Promoting Quality Education in Nigeria, League of Researchers in Nigeria etc.
He is married and blessed with five children.
