Al-Makura Orders Reduction Of Polytechnic’s Fees

Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, has ordered the? authorities of Nasarawa State Polytechnis to work out modalities of slashing the school fees.

The public relation officer of the institution, Alhaji Muktar Wakeel, who spoke to the press shortly after an orientation progamme for attachment students, assured that they will work on the directives of the governor.

It would be recalled that students of the institution recently took to the streets, protesting among others, the sack of the former rector, Michael Ibrahim Mamma, lack of hostel accommodation and high fees.

Earlier in an address to those going on Students Industrial Working Experience Scheme (SIWES), the new rector, Engr. Emmanuel Jatau, who commended the governor for attending promptly to the needs of the institution, said the polytechnic authority, would do everything possible to reciprocate the kind gestures of the governor.

The rector charged the SIWES students to be good ambassadors of the school and the state, saying, they should take seriously whatever they will learn in the field.

The zonal coordinator of Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Mrs Lami Dakwat, represented by Mrs Fidelia Irabor, thanked the authority of the polytechnic for grooming productive students since inception.

Over 1,000 national diploma (ND) one students, from the institution are to participate in the three months (SIWES) programme organized annually by ITF.????
