Boko Haram: High Commissioner To Canada Pleads For Peace

The Nigerian High Commissioner to Canada, Prof. Iyorwuese Hagher, has urged the members of Boko Haram sect to consider a peaceful negotiation with the federal government? as a way to stop the killing of innocent people in the Northern parts of the country.

Speaking during an exclusive interview with our United States correspondent, Hagher said that the terror group had a fatal identity crisis and stressed that the sponsors of the group must come out and own up to all the atrocities being committed against helpless and defenseless citizens of this country.

Reacting on the political unrests in his state, Benue, Hagher said that there were moves by political leaders in the North-Central state to broker peace in order to allow the government of? Governor Gabriel Suswam forge ahead with the good things it has been doing in the State since its inception.

“I am coming back home soon to ensure that there are peace talks because I do not see anything like a stolen mandate in Benue State. Going by the records, Governor Suswam legitimately won the governorship election in the state as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)”

“One thing is very significant and it is that the governorship elections reflected the will of the people of Benue State.? He won the election as a result of his performance through the provision of infrastructure, security and the development of the State during his first term in office” he explained.
