Ogun State governor, Ibikunle Amosun, yesterday faulted the claim of former Governor Gbenga Daniel? that he inflated contracts for the purchase of Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs).
?
?Amosun, while reacting to a publication by a national daily (not LEADERSHIP), described the claim? as baseless.
?
?He said, “We are not thieves like them; they are thieves and I can say it again and again and again. The only thing that will restrict me from saying it again is because I don’t want to bring this office of the governor into disrepute.”
?
But in a quick reaction, media aide to Daniel, Mr. Adegbenro Adebanjo, called on Amosun to defend the purchase of the APC at inflated rate.
?
“The present administration should react to the allegation that it had ordered for APC at an inflated rate, that it paid a whopping N500 million to two firms to audit the account of the state without the consent of the state executive council and that it awarded the contract for a kilometre of road at N500 million.
