Kaduna Bomb Explosion: Senator Disagrees With CP

The Igbo community in Kaduna yesterday closed down all shops in solidarity with their brothers who lost their lives and properties following the Wednesday bomb blast along Ogbomosho Road in Kaduna metropolis. As a result, virtually all commercial activities became grounded.

This is even as the Senator representing Kaduna South Senatorial district, a retired General in the Army, Senator Mohammed Sani Sale disagrees with the Kaduna State Police Commissioner, Balah Magaji Nasarawa who had denied that it was a bomb, saying “With the way this building collapsed, it is an explosive from my professional point of view, it is not gas. Gas cylinder does not have that power. Honestly from my experience as military engineer it cannot be a gas cylinder.”

Governor Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa of the state, who visited the scene yesterday, described the incidence as “very unfortunate, painful and regrettable.”

The governor, who inspected the scene to ascertain the extent of damage, took full responsibility for the medical bills of all those injured and hospitalised in different hospitals, even as he directed the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to immediately come to the aid of the families that lost their loved ones.
